Drum Beat

Using a guide from The Animator’s Survival Kit, I animated someone beating a drum. I wanted to emphasize a huge force onto the beat by shifting their entire body weight into the drum. I also wanted a slower start in raising the arm to really contrast how hard and forceful the hit is. There is also a slight recoil afterwards.

Luca Redraw

I was really inspired by the use of 2D animation techniques in Luca, a 3D animated film. This scene in particular used the technique of adding several legs in a running action to give the illusion of faster running.

Weighted Balls

This animation shows how different sized and weighted balls would interact with each other when forcefully colliding. The red ball is a small but heavy ball, while the yellow ball is large but very light and bouncy.

Rotoscopes

I took video clips from gameplay of Genshin Impact and traced over them on Clip Studio Paint.
